Day One, Success!

Friday, September 9 was the first day that our St. Elmo Elementary Explorer's were able to come together and learn about the exciting events that will be unfolding this year thanks to Ms. Lucy Buffett. We discussed internet safety, created google account, used google docs to write letters, practiced interviewing skills, and of course, took our first group picture. We are officially off the ground and flying!

Below are pictures of some of our Explorer's discovering their iPads.

  1. Hello,

My name is Devon Weaver and I am a student at the University of South Alabama and is currently enrolled in EDM 310. I live on the Alabama gulf coast and I am very familiar with Lucy Buffett and her restaurant, LuLu's. I think that it is wonderful that she provided St. Elmo Elementary with iPads. I believe that it is very important for children to understand and love technology. Thank you for sharing your blog post. Good luck with the iPads.

  5. St. Elmo Students,

Congratulations on your new ipads! I hope you take very good care of your new ipad computers.

You are very lucky to have such a generous gift from Ms. Lucy and I know you will learn a lot this year! With a touch of your hand, you will have so much information available to you and your class.

    Who knows....

Maybe you can find out about Ms. Lucy's famous brother (who is Jimmy Buffett) on your new ipads and send her your special report!

Happy surfing, happy blogging, happy interviewing, and happy learning!

  7. Hi!
My name is Brooke Thompson and I am a student at the University of South Alabama and currently enrolled in EDM310. This is awesome! I think it is extremely important for our children to learn about the different technology that is available to us today. Before taking EDM310 I had no clue that Google Docs even existed, but I wish that I had known about it because it would have helped me on my schoolwork in the past. Your students are so lucky! I look forward to reading your future blog posts!

    Thanks,
    Brooke

    Good luck with the iPads!
